When the World Stopped!

It had to come to a worldwide pandemic for the human race to stop for a second and think. Reflect. Process. Feel. All basic things that we have stopped doing for a while now because we got insanely immersed in a set of fictional corporate beliefs.

We had convinced ourselves that our value/ success stems from how busy our lives are, or how popular we get, or how rich we become. Enter Corona to make us feel helpless, small, and defenseless regardless how successful we thought we were. While that’s scary for everyone, it is scarier for those who have lost loved ones, or those who are at higher risks than most. In one short month, the whole fictional system we created for ourselves have collapsed, and a new set of real values is growing; hopefully?

This pandemic has exposed leaders in every possible field and size. It has shown us who can do what. It showed that we have been too busy caring for selfish visions, and neglecting to look at all the human race across the globe. But mostly, it has taught us a lot about us!

For the first time in our lives, all humans - of all races, religions, countries, beliefs, financial status, popularity, genders, education, hobbies, mental health abilities...etc. - are fighting one enemy that is not another human (Unless you’re Trump and fighting China on your own)!

For the first time in our lives, instead of focusing on artificial celebrities; we are clapping for healthcare workers, scientists in labs, operators in vital fields like energy, security, telecom, banks, schools, groceries, and cleaners! Performing artists, museums, movie makers, orchestras,…etc. are entertaining all humans alike and for free! This is a reversed scenario than the ones we’re used to, and it does make much more sense than before!

For the first time in our lives, we have compassion towards our brothers and sisters in China, Italy, Spain, Iran, and sadly more countries will be added to the list soon. We are in awe as we see the planet recovering from all the pollution and looking at these amazing photos where wild life is emerging in deserted lands/waters, and the sky/water looks cleaner than ever.

For the first time in our lives, we “have to” spend all our time at home, with family members (pets included) that we have been way too busy to see, interact with, and love.

We don't know how much longer this new lifestyle is going to take, but i know it is teaching us how to be humans again. How to care for each other, how to keep children healthy, entertained and educated, how to care for the lonely, the elderly, the sick, how to comfort loved ones who suffer from depression or anxiety, how to communicate wholeheartedly with those we love but can't meet, and how to enjoy the little pleasures of life!

I remain completely grateful that my family and friends are healthy. I’m also grateful for being healthy myself, surrounded by loved ones (yes pets included), living this experience with the rest of the world, and sending positive thoughts to humans all over the planet. I am praying for the safety of you all and I am praying this lesson teaches to become better species. That's success in my definition ❤

#Stayhome please!
